Niacin accomplishes these changes naturally in the following ways:
1) It inhibits the liver from creating "very-low-density" (VLDL) cholesterol. This is where "low-density" (LDL) cholesterol comes from. As a result, the level of (LDL) cholesterol drops naturally.
2) Virtually every study done on niacin has shown it to increase HDL-cholesterol. HDL (the "good" cholesterol), picks up excess bad cholesterol in your blood and takes it back to your liver where it is eliminated. The higher your HDL cholesterol, the less bad cholesterol you'll have in your blood.
3) It reduces the breakdown of fat from fat cells. These broken-down-fat-particles are the building blocks used by the liver to create triglycerides.
4) It inhibits the liver from converting blood sugar into triglycerides. |
